Tips for a boomerang playthrough?
I recently started a boomerang/thrown melee weapon only playthough, and I'v defeated EoC and Skeletron, but I'm kind of stuck with how to progress. The Brain of Cthulhu has so many creepers, which seem like a huge problem for a boomerang, which has trouble hitting multiple targets (sure was fun fighting goblin invasion ;-;). Wall of Flesh I'v at least attempted, but it seems like it needs a huge walkway because Boomerangs have such a low DPS and a lot of my attempt was spent trying to clear out the hungry. Queen Bee I'v yet to even touch, so I'm not sure how hard it will be.

I'v acquired all the pre-hardmode boomerangs, except for the Wooden Boomerang and the holiday ones. The only way I'v so far discovered to increase DPS with boomerangs is to use multiple at the same time, since you can throw out another boomerang while another one is in the air. Only problem this has is it's difficult to dodge a boss and try to switch weapons in a specific order and timing with the same hand.

tl;dr I am ♥♥♥♥ at Terraria and need the lords of General Discussions to bestow knowledge upon me to succesfully finish a boomerang only playthrough.

For the brain, I would try aiming the boomerang behind the swarm, so when it returns, it will hit multiple enemies.

As for the wall of flesh, unless you have THE BEST possible weapon you can get before hardmode, and you get lucky, I would use a summon, like a hornet or imp, I only say that because killing the WoF with thrown melee/boomerangs will be extremely difficult (I understand you are doing a strict playthrough, this was just a suggestion for when you have used all other options)

The queen bee is quite easy actually, she will fly from left to right, then right to left a couple times, then hover over you, if you have managed to find at least 2 hives, go into one and summon the bee so you can see what she will do and how she moves about. (when you are ready to leave you can magic mirror away) If you beat skeletron, then the queen will be somewhat easy for you.

Best of luck!

Getting the boomerang to hit all the creepers on the return really helped with the brain (and I feel like it will help a lot with other bosses and events). The second half of the fight was easy because of the high knockback on boomerangs.

Queen bee ended up being easy too, since any bees that came from it would get hit by the boomerang when it returned, making the boomerang effectively shield me from them, and the combined poison and fire DoT that Flamerang and Chakram dealt meant a constant damage was being dealt, even when QB was outside of the hive (fire also helped see her when she flew into a dark area on the screen).

I'm going to try and prepare for WoF by building a longer bridge, since the current one was way too small. Thanks for the tips.

I have no advice for when fight the wall or the brain, but once you get into hardmode. Bananas

Was thinking about trying a playthrough like this myself. Let me know how things went!
