Farming frozen key

Hi, I'm trying to farm a frozen key cause its the last key I need (besides from the crimson key). I get bored to wait all day in snow biome so I googled for alternate strategies.
I found the ocean-lava-trap-trick, but it doesn't seem to work anymore cause lava destroys the platforms.
So I put about 300 snow blocks in the ocean to create a snow biome in the ocean (I feel like there are higher enemy spawn rates). Now it's snowing under water and the music changed, so I guess it worked :D
But still no key drop. Is it still possible to farm keys in the ocean? Cause the wiki says:
"Due to Ocean Biomes having no Key Mold of their own, enemies here have a chance of dropping any Key Mold(whether this was intentional or a programming oversight is unknown since this does NOT occur with non-infected forest, desert, or glowing mushroom biomes)."
This isn't been patched yet? So I'm just unlucky?

Yes, it should be possible. Your conditions are good for key farming, so you must be unlucky right now. Just keep trying.
If you can make it fully AFKable then you should just be able to let Terraria run in the backround to help you farm for it, and then pick up items every several minutes.

Thanks! I managed it now :-). I left the ocean and created an artificial snow biome right near my house and summoned several pirate invasions :D
Btw, how is it possible to run terraria in background? Everytime I click in another window, the game is paused.

Yes I think but you need to put the game in windowed mode.

Personally what I do is I get the ocean thing but wire up some lizhard traps that point down on repeat to kill enemies. Remember to stand in water. That let's it be fully AFK farmable.

Next time I would just use the old Ebon/Crimstone + Pink Ice + Lihzahrd Brick setup in the ocean to get all four.

youre just unluky. it took me 9 hours of afk farming.

yeah i remember farming keys took me a day ore more for some keys 2. and some keys i got randomly by farming souls XD

back in the days it was possible with meteorite head's but from what i heard (on this comunnity) this doesnt work anymore(did not test it myself if it still work)

I'm not so firm with this setting and I just needed the frozen key. I got all the other keys before from normal playing (and I got the crimson key on my way back from ocean to my base, as I wanted to create the snow biome there, so I was lucky with that crimson key :D).

The wiki says its not possible anymore cause they do not drop coins but I haven't tested either.

True, if you had all the other ones just making a fake snow biome is the way to go. (That's why I said "Next time" :P)

I got two or three hallowed keys because my base got overwhelmed by the Hallowed xD
