Well, that depends on a number of factors. For example, would a demon heart be merely a talisman or would you eat it to absorb its dark essence? I think as a talisman or idol it could only do so much... maybe providing some super strength or demonic advantage over other humans temporarily when you've paid tribute to it.

You could potentially, use it as an ingredient, drying it out, preserving it, and only using bits at a time to provide just a little bit of dark energy here or there when you need it for a boost or a spell or an ill wish...

Eating it, however, is much more interesting. How much of the demon whose heart it was will really manifest in you? Would you really even be the same human you were before? Or would you become something much more (a la the beast from Split)?

Regardless... an interesting thought exercise to say the least.

If it's in comparison to games then it's obvious, you already said it. But we have to think further so this topic may be actually interesting.

Like, i think it would maybe consume your soul and slowly kill you untill you poof out of existence without a single trace and no one will know why and then you can't do anything cuzyouded.

Or it could sort of take over and make you evil.

Or it would just literally make you a demon and you can slap people twice as hard then before.

Duh, it just increases your capacity to command magic artifacts. It takes mental strain to weild so many at once, so that artifact expands your powers and allows additional focus.
Of course, like, in real life you don't have a bunch of magic arifacts lying around, so it probably just looks freaky and does nothing useful...

And 'cause of the whole 'demon' part, and the fact you got it from a writhing wall of flesh, and the fact every character can only use one begs some...dark imagination. Perhaps you tear out and replace your own heart with it in some horrific dark ritual, simply not played out in tiny pixel graphics.
