Where's the Hallow?
I just killed the WoF and I was looking around for the Hallow but I couldn't find it, the background didn't change to the Hallow background anywhere either. Is there a possibility that it spawned entirely underground? If so then is there an easier way to find it than digging random holes and hoping for the best?

I think that in blood moon The Dryard sells Hallow seeds

Yeah but it spawns automatically too, or am I just going crazy?

The hallow can be either really small or it is underground, either way you will have to wait for it to spread. Or just spread it manually

I always thought it had to spawn within sight of the surface at least, thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

I thought that initially but I had the same bug as you, just ignore it for a bit by mining for materials and it should naturally surface (unless the corruption is above it)

Speaking of which, you did make sure to break a couple demon/crimson altars, right?

It only spawns when you break one of the altars doesn't it...

From what I can remember, yes.
Nebulous May 12, 2018 @ 12:30pm
Okay... I'll go break a couple then... I feel like an idiot now, specially because I'm not that new to terraria

As multiple reviewers have said: "Easy to learn, hard to master"

Breaking altars does NOT spawn hallow. It spawns hardmode ores, however.
The hallow spawns in a half V shape, the other half being the Evil. It will overwrite corruption/crimson in its spread, but NOT snow.

Okay 1. calm down and 2. thank you, I found it already

No, it doesn't. It has a 66% to add a single hallow/corupt/crim block to the world, but it is not the primary method to release. Both hallow and corruption/crimson will come out in a V shape from somewhere near the middle of your world. It will change all blocks that have hallow/corupt/crim variations into pearl or ebon/crim varieties. Exception is the jungle. Hallow will not convert mud blocks or jungle grass. If you don't see the hallow, it may be possible for it to go through the jungle. It will extend to the top of the map, and convert floating island blocks also.

Best way to figure out where it is, go to the center of your world and dig to the underground. Then look east or west. If you find the corrption/crimson, go the other way. Alternatively, if you are like me and want to contain all corruption/crimson/hallow and want to know exactly where it is without using a map viewer program, make two long skybridges out of stone that extend most of the world, separate them by like 30-40 blocks high, then when the V hits, you can extrapolate the V line by using the 4 points on the stone bridges that have turned.

See the world picture here. https://terraria.gamepedia.com/Hardmode
