Safe NPC Jungle House?
Does anyone know how can I build a safe npc house in the jungle? Thank you.

i have the same problem, but im not fixing it because if i did it would look pretty ugly, but if you dont care about that just build a large wall around it with torches, and make sure the walls are higher than you can jump so mobs wont get in and and, and if you make the walls of glass you could add a ceiling of glass and make a greenhouse and that would make it not as ugly, and im pretty sure the snapper things that spawn above ground are only in pre hard mode or not idek, and they can go through walls so maybe put some kind of moat around the npc house and make sure ti out lava in the floor below the house but you dont have to make a ceiling because the snappers things cant get up there, i hope this was helpful, bye.

House npcs above ground either by elevating the house or moving npcs to upper rooms.

Dont put any doors leading to outside in rooms where npcs are (unless its a trap door NPCs and enemies cant open those)

Use peace candle and have at least 3 npcs (pets count too) to greatly reduce spawn rate of hostile creatures. Throw in a sunflower there too for stronger effect.

If you have access to echo blocks and care about your house look. Make actuated barriers out of those and toggle then on/off when needed.

They are invisible so you can go nuts with them and safeproof entire house for NPCs so they dont drown themselves in nearby pond or open doors for everything to come inside.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2138863026 This kind of design has worked for me with Dryad and WItch Doctor residing within. They have been safe so far anyway. I expect if I hung out on that screen long enough a monster might spawn but probably only very rarely. That has been the case since I can recall going all the way back to early versions. If you have NPCs in a house they tend to stay safe (except for potential drownings) as long as there is more than one.

can man eaters and/or snatchers spawn inside the house itself? Can they spawn on the top of ground?

They can spawn on any jungle grass block if there isnt any player placed background walls behind them. They can even sprout from planters.

So beware they can reach into your house from nearby grass or planters.

Reducing creature spawn rates will ensure they will almost never spawn.

Do they only spawn on grass/planters? Also, how far can they reach? I can just test that in game I suppose

Not sure exactlty but they can stretch pretty far and yea i havent seen them spawn on raw mud or anything other than jungle grass or plantrers , that seems to be their anchor point.
