New! Gaming group hosted on Discord for kids. Ages 4-12.
Crimson Riders is new gaming group! The group uses Discord as a voice chat meeting place.

Group Features:

* Discord Admin (3.5 days per week) is me, noah110. (and my dad will help with admin tasks occationally)

* A safe social place for kids age 4-12 to make friends and play a variety of games. Now hosting on terarria, expertmode usually.

* No swearing allowed. People are asked to play nice.

* Microphone required. Headset works but also a usb webcam and speakers. Discord will automatically use the webcam's microphone and speakers for sound if you have a webcam connected before launching discord.

Microphone required because it helps to ensure a more social friend network and more fluid gaming experince. Also its a good way for the group to be monitored and remove any creepy old people that try to join this group.

Send me a friend invite in steam. From there I can invite you to disocord.

Welcome to Crimson Riders!

Advertising is not really allowed on Steam...

That said, I have a tip:

-Once the server grows, consider getting moderators. You cannot expect yourself to be online 24/7 and any conflict should be quickly dealt with as to not cause any harm to any party involved.

I'd join anyway, but I am way over the age gate.

Thanks for the advice. Not trying to advertise really but I guess it dances on that red line a bit. My son (owner of this account) asked me to help him meet steam gamers and friends, but talk to them with a mic. So this seemed the place since he's currently into terraria. He sees me do this with my discord group currently (I play ark as owlshape). So he wanted his on discord group for people his age.

Yeah, that's perfectly understandable. Be aware, though, that not everyone may be confident enough for talking with a microphone (for instance, my pronounciation is very rusty and awkward due to not practicing it much). I suggest adding a text channel for voice chats, just for that conveniency. (That all said, this is much better written and serious than most advertising threads, so it surely scores some points.)

You can also try to ask whoever is on the server already to tell their friends about it. That breaks no forum rules and is in fact the most effective way to spread the word.

This is a very good opportunity to have your son learn to deal with things with logic, and not emotion. It's a very handy skill to have, from my experience. Best of luck to you.

I suppose I will join. I'm 12, and I don't voice chat, sadly.

But...question. I'm turning 13 soon. Will that be a problem?

With all due respect, this whole concept is sorta crooked...

1.) The whole "I'm a father that's using my son's account to get him friends" thing is sorta creepy...inviting SPECIFICALLY young children to join you in a Discord (whether it's your son's or not, you're still inviting them) makes me uncomfortable. And I'm not even near that age group. Just talking with little children in an online environment is already strange enough.

2.) Second, kids aren't going to make friends through forced relationships. Parents helping kids make friends just leads them to have even less friends in the long run. If you want your son to have friends, encourage them to socialize with children his age rather than creating a play session with a bunch of random children online.

I just wanted to post this to show my insecurities with this whole system you're running here. This is not meant to insult you, and I'm sorry if it does.

I agree with the above comment.... kinda sketchy to invite kids to a private place

Yeah, that does make sense... It shouldn't be taken as an insult, though, as you were civil and polite about it. Unlike...
