There are several, but the one I saw was 'Duke Fishron Pre-Mech Bosses', here:

(note: not my video, so all credit to author)
My impression is, that there's no real good way to cheese him. Learn his pattern and you can kill him with almost any gear, or wait until you've killed Plantera and you have Soaring Insignia and fast wings, which is the easier route to go.
At higher difficulties, his Sharknados and his third form are too strong imo. In that case, you've got to learn his attack patterns and do it the old way. Or wait PP (I've heard Spectre Hood changes a lot for that teleporter arena, and so do the mobility items I've mentioned above).
i'd place a column of platforms on both ends of the arena too and use a grappling hook (i think angler can give you one of the faster ones from time to time) to pull myself up or down quicker if i were you (the gravity can be very punishing in higher altitudes as well)
idk duke is pretty hard pre plantera but could be fun, good luck
...of course, what I wanted dropped on the second kill (the wings!) so may not farm too much more! :)
But, yeah, mobility for you plus damage accessories seems key. I redid my setup for ranged combat (3 damage accessories) plus two mobility accessories (amphibian boots, and a decent pair of wings) and seemed much easier. Before I didn't have the boots and was having a hard time getting away. An accessory that lets you dash seems to be very helpful, too.
I'm on multiplayer with a friend, and its his first time, so I want to get some very strong weapons for him cus he isn't really the best, so we're on normal mode.
At normal difficulty a dash is only available PP. But you could try to do that teleporter arena, the Duke might be weak enough at normal. But heart statues are key here. The advantage is MP is that you can just tag-team him, so while one teleports back to the nurse (and returns with a Wormhole Potion), the other one can keep him busy.
