ice queen struggles
hello there.. i am in need of some tips on defeating the ice queen quickly.. ever since o got off work i been trying to get to wave 15 for about 10-15 attempts now, and whenever i get to the 14th wave i always get so close but run out of time.. and most of the time i try to hit the ice queen.. i tried solar eruption, the daybreak, and even the star wrath... yep... the star wrath... i thought it helped at first til it slowed me down a bit... but then after that i tried the lunar glove item that almost looks like the infinity gauntlet.. i'm not sure what els to do and/or how to get the frost moon achievement without getting rekt a few times although i have a kinda flat land with an underground place to spawn along with the nurse and a teleporter.. but eh.. if you guys have any ideas please post them in the comments.. so far i been having the same experience for almost a week O_o

become a mage and use the last prism. Probably the easiest way to do this, but there are better ways.

im usually the melee type. usually i'd do mage but i would run out of mana quickly and the ranged weapons takes up lotsa bullets quickly.

nebula armor, lots of magic potions, mana flower. I only really play ranged, and I am good at mage, but melee is litterally like the worst class soooooooo... yeah I don't play it alot. When I do I like to use the terrarian. Maybe try that?

I could help if you like. I become practically useless in the later waves due to lag, but that is normally caused by ice queens, who don't come till later on.

alright thx. usually i'd try to attack the ice queen but then it fied to space multiple times which usually took around half a min to resurface.

Did you manage?

not yet. still getting stumped on the last minute of wave 14 repeatedly

Use a Summoner character or a summoning staff. The Ice Queen is difficult to get at if you use short-range weapons but if you do plan to do that then a minion can be a good workaraund. Raven Staff, Tempest Staff, Deadly Sphere Staff, Xeno Staff, all of those are good to use. And if you've already gotten to the endgame then the Stardust Dragon Staff or the Stardust Cell Staff are definitely worth using as well.
Lots of lava pools, what's she gunna do, put it out?

Considering he has a Star Wrath, he is in the end game. However, I can verify that unless they are good at dodging and treat everything like a nuke the summoner wouldn't work well for them due to the fact that the summoner is a squishy.

That being said, I'd advise you to use a summon and a sentry staff: just don't change into a summoner class. For the summon take your pick between the stardust cell/dragon and for the sentry use the lunar portal because the ice queen won't wait around for the rainbow crystals to explode, especially when you're dodging/actively fighting her.
What's you'r gear and load-out (Referring to armor and accessories if you don't get it)? The frost moon is hard, but it's supposed to be at least pre-golem so it shouldn't be in the end game, let alone with a moon lord item. I'm suspecting your accessories and armor aren't good for the event, but I need a list to verify that.

You could also do this or become a ranger with an SDMG instead. Both are really good for events because of their crowd control and piercing abilities, not to mention their DPS.

Finally, since I'm bored I could help with the event along with DekuScrub. Unsure when I can, but just hit me up when you need help. I'm gonna bring my summoner ranger if you're wondering.

Sadly i'm starting to realize that this is true.
Even summoner or mixed melee summoner feels way stronger than pure melee.

It pretty much is.

There are always the crossover gear sets. Want to be a melee user, ranged user or magic user? Use one of the three sets the crossover update gives you. But, really, if anyone says Summoners are too "squishy" then they might not be using their Summoner characters properly. Being a Summoner means staying clear out of the way of enemy mobs and letting your minions do most of the work. That is why you use Summoner armor and accessories. You are trying to boost the damage your minions do and how many minions you can have so that their damage roughly equals the damage you could be doing if you were one of the three other classes. It is just a different style. That's all.

The thing is, we've got people now saying "You're a noob if you use armor!" whenever players opt for Solar Flare armor, to such an extent that we are stigmatizing the armor that melee characters need for that playstyle. Melee armor was designed to take a lot of damage and if we take that away then getting up close to mobs becomes inviable. If a melee character takes too much damage while being a melee character with the armor on then there is probably a balancing problem, but we shouldn't be condemning Solar Flare armor if it does its job. If you are a melee character and you could benefit from Solar Flare armor, then FFS by all means, use it.
