u can normally go in a tower and mine it without getting with the lava or u can do the obsidia skull so u can be on them without takin dmg
i do that to get imp staff :D
In regards to imps, make a summon staff and set your summons up as guards while you dig and fill. And pay minor attention so you don't miss the chance to dodge as needed. The spawns are not that bad. Also you can block their fireballs with proper timing and after 3 shots they teleport so you can count on that.
why would you want it? its not worth the effort
How is it bad?
It can mine a lot of blocks fast for building purposes and is more precise than explosives.
Aswell as its good for flattening and smoothing large portions of the terrain / prepping build areas (again with more precision than explosives)
I also find it useful for decomissioning larger structures you no longer want to have in areas where you rather not use explosives to not accidently damage anything else.
It may not be too practical for normal ore gathering or digging to hell but for builders / terraformers its a great tool.
