almost no enemies spawning in the dungeon

so i'm trying to farm ectoplasm so i put up a water candle and chugged a battle potion but there's hardly any monsters spawning. I even removed all the torches nearby in case that was affecting it

are you in journey mode? that might be affecting it if you changed enemy spawn rate. if not just try wandering around the dungeon for a few minutes on your cellphone it says one enemy nearby. hope this helps

nah i'm in normal mode

dyou reckon i'd be better off putting lots of water candles everywhere and walking around a bit?

Edit: I left the dungeon to restock and now i'm getting swarmed again, maybe it was just bugged :D

mobs always spawn slightly off screen so you want to make sure they have space to spawn. from your screenshot, it seems like there is no space left to the right and they might get stuck on the left.

i added an edit to my previous comment coz they started spawning again for some reason :D

the spot you showed in the ss is actually quite good, you can stand on the rightmost spot and mobs will only come from the left, making it safer to farm.
