My artificial crimson biome is not spawning monsters
I made my artificial crimson biome 200 blocks of crimstone, no face monsters or blood crawlers are spawning, do i have to be offscreen, it would also be nice to see an example of an artificial crimson biome.

They will not spawn on player placed walls. An artificial biome needs no wall or large holes in the walls.

If you were doing it right then even putting crimson in the middle of the corruption will get crimson enemies.

So just to be sure, don't settle and spam out even more. Also be aware that, at least in my experience, enemies like Ichor Stickers are morons who who prefer to spawn in enclosed holes they can't leave no matter how big or small the amount of crimson nearby is.

You can test it by using a boss summon

A few spawned then stopped, with 700 blocks.....should I make a 40 by 10 rectangle?

I'm still confused about them spawning away from my screen

Is the blocks they can spawn on Crimson or regular stone/dirt? If stone/dirt, Change it.
1.4 seem to have changed how spawn mechanics works (or I just dont remember 1.3 all that well).
But I made a regular farm underground and placed a cube of biome blocks, just like you did and didnt really get any mobs. Then I changed all the blocks they can spawn on into the same biome blocks and then they started spawning.

Use 300+ of proper blocks with no other biomes in victinity. As they cance each other out and remove from block counter.
Build the biome in the sky. A 200x2 walkway.

Note that crimson enemies will only spawn on top of crimson blocks, meaning that those crimson blocks have to be offscreen. So if you're hanging out with all of your crimson blocks onscreen, nothing will spawn.

so, i should make it below all my platforms so it is offscreen by a little bit?

Yep. Stand somewhere so that the crimson blocks are just offscreen, and if monsters still don't spawn, move away from the blocks a little bit more. It might take some trial and error to find the spawning sweet spot, but it shouldn't be too difficult.

the sweetspot is 85 blocks to the sides and 45 block up and down
