Is Fossil Vanishing?
Before 1.3 each fossil we mined gave us 1 desert fossil, but now in 1.4, it seems some other fossil when we mine it just break and turn into nothing, like breaking stalagmite and stalactite... Is that right?

It's the tradeoff for not having it restricted to a certain pickaxe power.

What? I'm using Molten, I can't have a better one than that in Pre-Hardmode, do I have to use potions and items to have a better Pickaxe Power even using the best one in the moment? The hell...

Actually no, you are wrong. Fossil can simply break and drop nothing as normal now, it doesn't matter your pickaxe power, neither the pickaxe we are using.

"By default, there is a 1/15 chance for a block in any of the 8 surrounding tiles to be destroyed. Of these 8 tiles, if any of them has no block below, they will have a 1/4 chance to be destroyed. The tick the original fossil is broken, the block above also has a 25% chance to break."

"To get as many fossils as possible, players should try to mine horizontally from top to bottom and avoid creating holes, which can otherwise spread quickly."

Please, don't spread false information, don't be that kind of person, no one likes people like you, don't do that. If you don't know the reason, you can simply NOT reply, no one is forcing you to do it.

You misunderstood his post - its a trade off for NOT HAVING IT RESTRICTED to a certain pickaxe power, in other words you can use a copper pickaxe now where it use to need atleast world evil level pickaxes.

And it was indeed a trade off made in the same patch, because it can be mined earlier now they made it so when mining it with a pickaxe itll have a chance to break the surrounding blocks.

At no point did he say it was because you didnt have enough pickaxe power.

I think your reading comprehension is the issue here. It's pretty well assumed through context clues that Lady Mint was implying that the reason it breaks in the new patch was because its obtainable earlier now. Educate yourself before you attempt to be a hero by criticizing others.
