RNG is always the real monster, no matter how often people give their lucky streak examples.
I once saw someone try to shift the goalposts to "Well you shouldn't have used biome chests then! it would be faster to use normal crates!" over that example. But pearlwood crates only have cobalt and palladium anyways according to the wiki, so you're wasting fishing and crate potion time, etc etc.
So try some hell fishing for nothing but hell biome crates to lower your RNG odds vs split crate types if non biome crates have been a bust. But remember that bad luck is king. Plus obsidifish are used in the Potion of return if you're not in journey mode for some raw convenience.
It's a potion that increases the chance of catching a crate instead of something else.

You can do a lot to try and buffer against RNG, but bad luck is always waiting to ruin your day regardless.
Also try to ensure your fishing power is high enough. In fact, just straight up check out the whole wiki section on fishing overall.
My opening post was mostly as an example for "Even if you do everything right and are blinged out with all the fishing toys and break 170+ fishing power, RNG is always out to get you"
Refer to every thread lamenting the fact they just can't get a weather radio even 20+ more angler ques turn in's later when they own every other item and have them in their personal inventory just in case. A real bastard even in Journey mode where you can control time and duplicate quest fish.
