Graveyard for Biome Key farming
Would that work? I'm hoping to increase the enemies' spawn rate this way. Or does the Graveyard prevent the keys?

Well, spawn rates boosts add, so I'm not trying to do that "instead" of Water Candles/Battle Potions. ;)

That may be so, but since you didn't mention water candles and battle potions in your original post, I had to assume that you might not know about them. My intention was to help you - my mistake obviously...

No sweat, and thanks anyway! ;)

This is how my farm looks like https://i.imgur.com/K2leMRn.png
Should work for Hollow and Frozen Key in theory, right?
(I know, Battle Potion is not active anymore.)

All I do is to tab in from time to time to collect the money so there won't be to much items there. I could add lava to avoid useless items etc., but the goooold. ;(

He has the knowledge of a specific mini-biome increasing spawns which is in the game for like only 3 weeks and which is impossible to find out without the wiki but doesn't know about the two oldest ways to increase spawnrates, which you can find out without any external site? Are you for real?

Edit. That is a bad farm tbh. Sorry. You have way too mittle space around you to maximize spawns.

What do you mean? I've build ways from anywhere to the the center/bridges so even monsters spawning remotely will get to me, and I've closed many holes where monsters could get stuck.

All good, I'm just a bit pissy today I guess - sorry about that.
You setup should work for both keys. You could add a lava lake at the bottom of the area to make things easier, but that's just a bonus. Sometimes RGNs just aren't in your favor and you have to grind your ass of to get the drop you want. Good luck with that keys.

Everyone? Really? Oh, that's why wcc tried to increase the spawn rate by using a graveyard biome instead of using water candles and battle potions. Makes perfect sense, really :steamfacepalm:. Just because YOU know those things doesn't mean everyone does.
No offense, but you should really know this.

old trick here: adding enough lihzard bricks to make a mini jungle temple biome can increase spawn rates along with battle potion and water candle

Monsters spawn on solid blocks with naturally generated walls, including sky, off-screen at a maximum of 84 blocks away from the player on left and right side and 47 blocks over or under the player. If your terrain has noles in it, they can spawn there and stay there and block spawn spots and despawn after a while.
The best farm is an open 168x47 blocks area with an 168x47 solid blocks area beneath it. If you stand in the middle, EVERY mob that spawns will spawn at the edge of the farm and run towards you. You won't lose a single mob.

Yeah, it should work. (:

And don't read all the "pros" with things that "you should know", hahaha. Just play the game as you want. (:

I have a few spare keys from my recent gameplay, if you want one. (:
I have my house in hallow biome, so I have a lot of keys, hahaha.

Do note that Ive been playing for years and I *just* found out about the Battle Potions / Water Candles.

In 10x Master Journey Mode, the results are *glorious*.

Building 168x47 solid blocks is sooo tedious, so I hoped I could skip that. But yeah, if the area itself is okay and the quick-and-dirty workaround with Graveyards might not work, maybe I'll go for that. Thanks!

Ah, I remember I've read about that but did not get the point. Good idea, but that's obviously post-Golem. No idea how powerful the Golem became in 1.4, but maybe I'll try to got that route. :)

Thanks for the offer! I think I'll try to get it done own. :)

I know about it, I friggin suggested it in the first place :steamfacepalm: People play Terraria for years without noticing certain aspects of the game and there is always something new to learn about items and game mechanics regardless of how many hours of time you already put into the game. I for instance just recently realized that there are different areas in the dungeons that have different spawn rates for certain mobs and I have about 1500 hours of play time. There are probably tons of details I don't know about.
To suggest that "everybody" knows a certain fact about the game is just plain stupid.
