jester arrows and things like flails. Also make a platform so you can jump and duck when needed. It separates so be careful when hitting it.

place a bunch of spike balls from goblin army and goblin npc around the arena then start the battle

I beat him with spiky balls in surface. (You can make an tiny platform arena too if it is too hard)

Do the pirate event until you get pirate flying mount then you can kite it across the map. Farm king slime in the ocean to increase chances of getting pirate map. Farm rubies underground with gemcorns. Farm gold. Ruby and gold to make slime summon.

i thought if it's on the surface it'll go away and despawn.

he only leaves if you exit the corruption, you can fight him on the surface and he shouldnt leave

I mean.. eater of worlds and the destroyer are pretty different names, but alright.Too many worms in this friggin' game.
