tModLoader character import issue

I've been trying to import my end game character into tMod to do the Calamity mod but it doesn't let me choose the character, and when I made a different character my worlds showed up as corrupted. I'm assuming the first one is because it's a journey mode character and tMod is still in 1.3.5, but my normal world and character is corrupted as well. Any ideas?

Play the mod from the beginning, just as it was meant to be.

well the whole point for me was to be able to play extra content with my already leveled character. besides, if that's how its meant to be then why do I have the option to import characters?

Tmodloader wasn't made by the calamity team, ye know.
There's bound to be some errors if you try to import it.

Nonetheless, calamity changes a lot, both early, mid and late game.Playing it from the start is quite the experience, especially on expert.

Importing was possible when tmodloader and vanilla were the same version, the 1.4 changes prevent that until tmod is updated to 1.4
