It's Steam Cloud that is ♥♥♥♥ not the game.
The cloud belongs to Valve. Not to the devs. Devs cannot do anything about how it functions. Devs cannot take the game off the cloud, as steam works independently from the devs.
You can disable it if you dislike it.
It is also not a fact that the cloud deletes your character. If you move your character or world to the cloud, it just copies the files to the cloud while still leaving them at your PC.
It does not delete your character per-se. It only happens if you have some sort of an issue with the cloud. I also don't know why it happens to people, as it never happened to me.
I even tried to somehow force a broken character or world, and couldn't do it.
Why do I even bother responding to this ♥♥♥♥. I'm done with the game.
And moving your character into the cloud does not result into losing your progress. If this happens, it is a bug.
I am seriously not getting how stuff like this manages to happen.
I just tried to move characters in and out of the cloud for 2 minutes and none of them broke. In like 50 attempts it moves perfectly in and out.
