Celestial Pillars won't spawn enemies

I am playing in a journey world and I killed the Lunatic Cultist. The pillars showed up and I managed to destroy two of the pillars, but the Solar and Nebula pillars aren't spawning any baddies for me to kill to weaken the shield, so I can't get them. One was inside a purified corruption tunnel and another was directly above a little dirt patch/oasis thing in the desert. I thought maybe the enemies had no room to spawn, but even after blowing up a bunch of room for the Nebula pillar in the purified corruption, it still just sat there. I looked underground under the Solar pillar, because there was some of the shield health gone when I got there and I thought maybe they were suffocating but got out, but still nothing. How do I proceed?

You're in journey mode, so try turning spawn rates up
