How do i stop drowning in the abyss in calamity

you have to get more than just gills potion, you will need some diving gear to even survive for just a bit and you'll still take damage on the top layer of it, just get down as fast as possible

the expert mode accessories from desert/aquatic scourge + abyssal diving gear gives infinite breath for the first layer, and aquatic scourge's lore item makes you immune to the water in the acidic ocean
