Why the hell is everyone getting mad about the Zoologist?

It's literally just an NPC that sells animal stuff that has animal ears and a tail. I'm honestly confused. Is there a deeper meaning that makes everyone hate it?

Have you ever heard of something called Rainfurrest? Well, that's an example of the reason people don't like furries. Not completely because they're weird deviants, but because they're not good people, generally speaking.

I honestly don't care about the zoologist being a furry or not, and it actually makes sense given the context of her profession in game. I'm just making an observation here. Besides, isn't it normal for society to shun non-conformists of all kinds? This is old news, people. If you act like a deviant, you're gonna get shunned. That's just how stuff works, really.

even on the full or blood moon she has both lines and turns into an actual animal. Sells a ton of furry related ♥♥♥♥ too.



we all know that it's pandering unless one of the devs is literally a furry then it's just ....what's the word i'm looking for...egoistic but another term. If that were the case though we'd just direct the hate towards that one dev. It wouldn't be as bad if that were the case just a..."oh how self absorbed do you gotta be to add something to the game just b/c?"

Some of the ♥♥♥♥ added pertains to both streamers and influencers who play terraria alot and maybe dedicate their channel 24/7 to the game.

Also some of the sprites like the harpy got changed adding more to the original statement.



People hate furries the same with vegans, sjws, and PETA. It's just one of those that if you're a part in any way or put anything relevant to it you're automatically labeled and ousted by the community. Even if you're a decent person the sins of the 1 pay for the sins of the many but in this case the sins of the many pay for the sins of the 1 since the majority of the people in the groups are just straight up cancer or cringe in more ways than one.

There's been a piss fetish item joke in the game for years as well as a large number of sexual innuendo, nothing prevents you from importing items from another world to pretend to do the skip, there's now mod supports and more features than way too many triple a games, and you regret buying the game because of one npc you can put into a corner of the map and forget.

^^^ Another guy who gets it. The Zoologist is an anime-style fox-girl (human with fox ears) who turns into a fox at night, though you never actually see her in her fox form, either. And, no, were-creatures are not furries; while were-creatures are basically humans who transform, furries are always in an animal form.

The only reason the Zoologist might look like a furry to a lot of people is because she has dark skin and that can look like she has fur. If the Zoologist NPC was a furry, she would look like the fox costume or wolf costume, both of which have been in Terraria since 1.2. But she doesn't look like that - her face is human - so she can't be a furry.

Now, if people would get over their erroneous preconceptions and misconceptions of what they think furries ought to be, and their misrepresented generalizations toward real furries (because I doubt anyone in the anti-furry crowd has even met a real furry), and just let this topic go, we could get back to enjoying our game and talking about something that isn't actually stupid to talk about.

Well, she's just a 'half-furry'. If she were a full furry, she'd just straight up be a bipedal animal, but since she's just got ears and a tail she's only really a half-furry.

Still insane how people are getting mad over a few extra pixels. Once tmod gets updated to 1.4 I'm sure someone's gonna make a mod to remove the furry parts.
