Battle potions and water candles. Not sure if the effects stack but considering Terraria is all about just punishing the player for anything their effects likely stack.

Water candles (notably found in dungeon) can be placed and work for 48 tiles once placed on a platform or flat furniture. They increase spawn by 33% and on-screen ennemies by 50%.

It can stack with Battle Potion (bottled water + death weed + rotted chunk or vertebrae) will double both spawn and on-screen ennemies.

Both can stack, however, I don't know if you get 2.5x ennemies (1 + 1 + 0.5) or 3x ennemies [(1+1) + 50%]. My guess is 2.5x

They stack. Multiple candles do not as pointed by others.

You can also create a small, 80 block artificial jungle biome near where you want more enemies to spawn, like your lava pyramid trap, that'll improve spawn rates.

Also doesn't holding a watercandle also help? Aswell as having one placed near you.

Nah, they still won't stack, because its the same de-buff.

That's good to know, for whatever reason I've always thought they had some effect, I don't know where I read or saw that but I've always done it when farming aha, today I learnt

If you are in a jungle biome or plant 80 blocks of jungle temple blocks, in the jungle the spawn rate is higher and jungle temple blocks weirdly cause enemy's to spawn more on them

just to clarify: This is a old trick IDK if it works anymore
