Unable to move, jump, access inventory and basically everything.

I can't do anything to control my character, or the game.
I've checked my bindings before I launch my world and all actions are bound to the defaults.
But when I launch up my character and my world. I am unable to do anything. Not even pause.
It worked completely fine yesterday, but now I try to launch it up for the first time today and the game seems to be bugged. When I try mashing keys to move or do anything, less than half of the time it works.

i remembered that i reinstalled OVRToolkit today, I uninstalled that and that fixed it?
what the hell?
OVRT did something and I dont know what it did.
Cause other people are having the same issue and don't use that. Something very specific is doing something.

It probably has to do with background stuff trying to override input?

Similar bug to me on my xbox one controller. The game ran fine when I tried it a few days ago right after the huge update and now I can't switch items in the quick slot, I can just move around and jumping. L1 and L2 are both use for jumping now for some reason no matter which preset I choose in the options.

Just did a file integrity check after quitting the game and Steam always finds "1 file failed to validate and will be reacquired" systematically at the end of every Terraria session so that might explains it?

I just tried starting a brand new world but the problem still persist. It's weird because the controller was working well after the update.

There is 2 fix for this problem. The source is coming from terraria's discord server.

1) Close Terraria and open it as admin (Official temp fix by Re-Logic)
2) Reboot your pc and start Terraria, should be gone… for an amount of random time (Fix that someone gave to me on the discord server)

which litterly does nothing for 99% of the people

that is the "official" workaround at the terraria forums
game is unplayable for now (at least for me)

Alright I thought of something so I just checked again. When I said the game ran fine after the patch, I was on Elementary OS (linux) but yesterday I was trying the game on Windows 10 so the problem should be related to directX. Checked again under Linux and gamepad is fine with newest version of the game.
Also, I just noticed on E-OS that the Control tab in the menu, as well as the last other three down below, are empty. The other tabs above Control are fine as usual.

I honnestly don't think it is directx related. That wouldn't make sense.
I would rather think that it comes from their executables for windows

Same problem. Keybindings kind of messed up/not working although settings are normal / unchanged. (I can only walk if i hold space (wtf) and one of the mousebuttons is the hook?. Most things dont work at all like esc and such.

Are some of you using a steam controller? I had a suspicion that maybe its an override bug? But I have the bug regardless if the controller is connected or not.
Controller seems working but i cant play with controller (like playing stuff without a mouse? good luck). Unplayable for me atm.
