Is there an Offensive Melee Build?

I'm quite new to Terraria, I've played it back in the day but haven't since then. I've been playing with a couple of my buddies. As of now we have 2 melee people, Me and a friend who's taking on the tank role. Is there a set of Armor, Weapons, and Accessories that help me become more damage dealing as a melee class? Without having the effects like Turtle armor and Beetle armor that make enemies focus me. As of now, I'm stuck at chlorophyte, and we're about to fight the moonlord.

I would say look into yoyos for dps when it comes to melee. They are also good in the way that you gain some distance between you and the enemies, not having to facetank everything. (mothron from solar eclipse drops an awesome yoyo called eye of cthulhu once you beat plantera)
There is also the Yoyo glove accessorie which the skeleton merchant sells underground. You can pair that with a string and a counterweight to make a yoyo bag, which is an awesome accessorie when using yoyos.
There is probably something more worth mentioning that i forgot, but that's a start atleast.

Oh and as far as armour goes, chlorophyte is probably your best bet as a melee dps before you get solar armour, as it won't raise your chance to be targeted.

Beetle Scalemail set is probably the most reliable dps armor pre-moonlord on melee. As far as accessories go, a good pair of wings and an ankh shield are always nice. The other 4 slots can be either damage or mobility. Good mobility items include Frog Gear, Tabi/Master Ninja, and Shield of Cthulhu. For melee damage you have the avenger emblem, destroyer emblem, celestial shell, mechanical gauntlet, and warrior emblem.

For a sword, Terra blade (excalibur, night's edge, and two broken hero swords [Mothron drop]), Flying Dragon (Betsy), and Influx Waver (Martian Saucer) are the best swords at that point. The Eye of Cthulhu (Mothron) is the best yoyo at that point. North Pole (Ice Queen) is the best spear. Paladin Hammer (Paladins) is the best boomerang. Golem Fist (Golem) and Flairon (Duke Fishron) are the best flails. Any of those are somewhat viable.
