What's the point of fixing liquid generators?
They were fun.

From someone who is kinda addicted to terraria fishing, I'm just gonna say that you can get botomless lava and water buckets pre-hardmode along with their endless sponges, a golden fishing rod, golden bug net and water bombs (From obsidian crates), which you can then craft into dry bombs (remove liquids) and then into liquids like honey etc. All of this in pre hardmode. Unless they decided to change it, but I haven't seen this in the changelog and I wasted quite a bit of my time reading it...

It's super useful and not too hard to get.
Not too hard but depended on RNG and time... At least you can now use beds to somewhat speed up time.

Where is the dry bomb? I have opened a lot of chests and ove never seen it and the demo does not sell it.
If they're going to remove something that was easily done once you had the mechanic the least they could do is not make the so called 'replacement' be late game or completely random.

The cyborg sells dry rockets (same but fired from a gun instead)

Dry bombs come from hellstone crates. Not obsidian crates.
If you get a dry bomb once you can buy infinite of them from the demolitionist.

Dry bombs are crafted from wet bombs and honey bombs, from which you can get from obisdian crates (The wet bombs not the honey bombs).

I didn't know this was a thing until I saw this discussion so I went to check on my liquid generators and as far as I can tell they are net neutral now, if I add a block or two to help split the liquids, they should function just fine. The problem is that I have to redo my wiring systems, which I don't feel like doing right now. Maybe I'll come back to it later. (I've never used a single inlet/outlet system for liquid generators, I've always used a more waterfall-like system with multiple pumps.)

Yknow this wouldn't annoy me so much if this hadn't been in the game for the last like 9 years.
I mean look at this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2107535805 this is a map i made back in 1.1, i like to go back to it every now and then to see how much the game has changed, this lake continues on for another 2 screens and ends where the snow biome begins. I can't even imagine how tedious it would be to make now using bombs and this isn't even the biggest body of water on this world.
What are pumps even for anymore? all they are doing is deleting liquids now and theres much easier ways of getting rid of liquids than wiring pumps up.

Can you post a pic? I'd like to see how you have them set up. i was playing around with several different ones i have on various worlds that are different sizes and they all just seem to delete the liquid now.

Keep in mind these are older photos so it needs a bit of revising to work with the new liquid settings. Water is actually still the easiest to dupe as it really only takes one of the new 1/4 or 1/2 second timers (don't know how fast frogs legs on a pressure plate against a small roof is) in addition to a one second timer tied to and inlet/outlet system. (Be sure to have another inlet in a bigger pool of water or you might lose water)

Wire's and EVERYTHING is expensive in Master mode.
BUT there is one thing you have forgotten about!!
when fishing there is a rare drop i belive in hardmode that has infinite water! and there is a sponge that can remove an infinite amount of water/lava.
Or they are rewards for fishing quests in hm i dont remember exactly

Yea there are alternatives thankfuly.
And if one don't mind world hopping in their playthrough you can use seed "not the bees!" for your endless supply of honey.

Since the world is basically this :

Just mind that all away , bring some buckets , return to your main world.
