Stop making summon weapons rare/annoying to get.
I genuinely do not understand why they do this. It's not fun and it was never fun to begin with.

Finch Staff, found on chests at surface.
Vampire Frog Staff, low drop rate from fished up enemies during a blood moon.
Blade Staff, low drop rate from already rare Enchanted Sword enemy.
Sanguine Staff, low drop rate from fishing up/killing Dreadnautilus during a blood moon.

Aside from the new desert chest summon, every one they added are all annoying to get in some way. (Biome weapons are... biome weapons.)

Again, I have to ask: Why?

Not talking about sandstorms, I want to build the forbidden armor and it's been hours since I didn't see a single sandstorm... Whereas other classes have their peak easily accessible. Dumb.

Because it's fair. Other class weapons also drop from various places and it would be too boring if you'd get just everything thrown at you. My opinion at least.

Summoner has the worst deal by far though. Something like a stormbow is not exactly the hardest thing to get and that thing shreds through the game.
A lot of weapons are good based on how attainable they are/how good they are in battle. Summon weapons are very rare and are still not as good as other weapons you can get at the same tier. Why make it more annoying for less reward?

It’s always been kind of a niche class. I’d say for balance, having creatures doing the fighting for you can be pretty OP, especially when paired with a summon potion and Bewitching Table, giving you two more summons.

And at least with this update you get actual weapons to defend yourself with, instead of having to solely rely on minions to protect you. The Ivy Snapthorn is pretty easy to get and does a decent amount of damage.

You have to grind? oh you poor thing. What is it with gamers these days just wanting things handed to them.

There is a very big difference between grinding for something and waiting there for hours, sitting and doing absolutely nothing. The blade staff should not be as hard to get as something like a rod of discord. You wait that long for something like a RoD because it is an op item, not a summon you throw away after a few bosses.
The blood moon ones are where I have to draw the line though; like who wants to sit there and just wait to get a blood moon, not get the weapon, and do it again.

Whips are great, but you still need to use minions if you want to get anywhere. I get what you're saying with the semi-niche playstyle but there has got to be a line as to how annoying an item can be to obtain.
Any other class can get an op weapon from where they are in the game relatively easily (like a ranger getting a stormbow) and just say "see ya" to the summoner still grinding for their dang weapon.

Yeah the Bloody Tear is great, just set up an above ground lava trap, quick, dirty and simple to build, you just need 1 bucket of lava. then grab a battle potion and a blue candle from the dungeon and the next time a blood moon happens, sit under your mob farm with brew in hand and you'll get like 1-3 tears. I've got like 40 of them and I don't even farm for them

Well in terms of dmg . The word probably goes trough many enemies not like spider who sticks to 1

Playing a summoner is easy mode against anything but bosses. Heck you can box yourself in and afk in a lot of cases and be completely safe while your summons do the fighting. So yea, their damage is lower.

That being said, only niche summons and weapons are rare. Pre-hardmode you can just go with bees/imps and an that thorn whip, all easy to get. Can get you through most of pre-hardmode really. Once you hit hard mode, just getting spider set and cool whip is enough until you can get other easy to get weapons/summons.

And considering that you can create new worlds and delete them again to look for a finch staff, it's really not hard to get either. I'm just glad they got us a feasibly obtainable starter summon. As the slime staff has way too low a drop rate.

Imo, no class should rely only on their chosen "class weapons". Playing a ranger? At least bring a melee weapon with you. Melee? Bring something ranged. Mage? Bring something not relying on mana. Summoner? Bring something ranged as well. And heck, every class can summon at least 1 minion at no detriment whatsoever, so why wouldn't you?
