is the blade staff any good?

im currently using a summoning character just because i wanted to be able to use whips, i want to know that when i go into hardmode should i try to get the blade staff or is it not worth it?

Never got it, considering the spawn rate of enchanted swords I will say it's not worth it

I haven't tested the weapon myself, but I feel like the damage is too low, and that it's better to just go for spiders.

the weapon drops with only 6-8 damage with no modifiers. the swords do have good tracking and with a whip you can focus them so i would say its viable to a point if you get the weapon drop easily and you are running full summoner gear/items.
