How do you use bait?
I put it in the ammo slot, my inventory and it just doesn't work.

Look at the recently necromanced thread.

you don't need bait in your ammo slot, and it works automatically when the fishing rod is put into the water, it is possible that it may take a while (Depending on how good your rod is). your rod will shake when a fish (or trash, or crate) has caught on.
In my experience, any bait placed in your ammo slots is actually used last.

I know, but it doesn't use bait though.

Bait is not consumed instantly; rather, it has a chance of being consumed with every item you fish up. If you're fishing and things are actually being fished up, then your bait is being used correctly.

I've been fishing for a while and not one was used. :/

The usage of "necro" in relation to a new post on an old thread was created by immature individuals in order to have an excuse to be jerks. The only person who 'necro'd' this post was me, by the way. Thanks for being 'that guy'.

Necro is a reference to necromancy which first appeared in the Odyssey in which the protagonsts visits the realm of the dead and speaks with the dead. As in, the spirits and souls of the departed are dragged back into interaction and rememberence.

The word was later used in Dungeons and Dragons as a mean of reviving dead bodies as zombies, skeletons or the like. And as with all things DnD, the term was coined and used in just about every English translation the following 20 years leading to a paradigm where our understanding of fantasy worlds and rpg games in general are based on core concepts from DnD and all work that derived from it.

During the 90s-00s the forum era was at its peak where people simply used the word "necro" to refer to answering a question that wasn't relevant anymore because A) it had already been answered or B) because several years had passed so people probably weren't interested anymore. Jump ahead and it became a common term to any kind of response to a thread that was more than 30 days old. In some cases, more than a week. But since the death of the forum era, where chats are a thing but threads are not it is a word in decline.
