Never Ending Goblin Invasion "Bug"
:terraria:Basically the title.:terraria:
I was playing co-op when a Goblin Invasion occured.
With the weapons we have, it isn't any problem at all so we tried to kill the Goblins.
We did just that for 5 minutes straight to notice that the "Goblin Army" percentage bar hasn't even moved up even 1%.
We kept on going for longer and still, 0%.
We are clueless on what to do, but i have some extra information:

-We are playing with several mods using "tModLoader"*,
-We got the Goblin Invasion right after a boss**,
-No hacks were used (inventory editors, map editors, etc.)
-We only used modded weapons, no regular magic/swords/guns.

(*I have no idea how it would influence the Vanilla event behavior though, bad coding?)
(**We found a Goblin Scout just before we attemped to kill Skeletron.)

Goblin Scout doesn't matter FYI, the only thing they're useful for is the crafting item for the Goblin Army summon.

You're right, but the Sorcerers will be a pain.
And a summon? As far as i know, the first Goblin Army will come when also a Goblin Scout spawned.

Goblin Armies have a chance to spawn anytime after you destroy a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart in your evil biome. Goblin Scouts don't affect that at all. What they do is drop the material Tattered Cloth, ten of which can be crafted into a Goblin Battle Standard that summons a Goblin Army when consumed. (For if you're impatient and/or don't have good luck)

Having the same issue here, the invasion bar has not gone up even 1% and I've must have killed about 500 goblins. Also tried force ending the invasion using TEdit (However it simply broke my world instead) Have been searching the internet like crazy and still havent found a fix so far :/

Oh yeah, you need 200+ health. Not the defense though.

This is very late and its not the fastest way but its worked for two of my friends.

How to fix for tmodloader no percentage gain in goblin invasion
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE : - Write down your mod list so you don't forget and you don't corrupt your world!
- Make sure terraria is closed during all of this unless instructed other wise
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First :
you need to manual backup the characters and worlds you want to save from the terraria file in documents including vanilla and modded (if you know how to do this then skip to the next line of ----)

If Not then :
Go to File Explorer (Folder thingy on taskbar) ---> Documents ---> my games ---> terraria -> Copy and paste Players and Worlds to safe area ---> Go into ModLoader ---> Copy and paste Worlds and Players in different area than the vanilla worlds and players files.

EDIT : Once that is done go back to the ModLoader file and make sure to delete the mods folder.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Next :
Go to steam library and right click terraria ---> properties ---> Local Files ---> Browse Local Files -> delete EVERYTHING in there except for Content ---> right click terraria in steam library and delete local content ---> reinstall terraria and then tmodloader once its done

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally :
Launch terraria and install all the mods you previously had ---> enable all of them --> Close Terraria ---> File Explorer ---> Documents ---> my games ---> terraria ---> copy and paste the vanilla players / worlds right in that file (replace anything) ---> after that go to tmodloader and do the same with the modded worlds and players files.

Once this is done you can relaunch terraria and play in your world and gain percentage again.

Hope it worked/helped :)

Well, a few months old, but it is from last year so I don't think it's needed anymore.

I just tried your method, and it worked for me, a big thank you for that, however I would like to add that it is also necessary (atleast for me it was) to also delete all files in the "Mods" folder within the "ModLoader" one. May confuse another player having the same issue.

Forgot to add that, will edit it in.

Not all people need to but just in case
