problem with 1.3.4 turrets

i farmed up enough defender tokens to buy the full dark artist and max lvl ballista and flameburst turrets, but cant summon them unless i am fighting the old one's army. i have seen others summon them outside of battle without etherian mana, but why wont mine work? i have 4 max turrets but i cant summon them

You Need To Beat The Event To Be Able To Summon Them Outside Of The Event
Plus If you beat betsy you get some cool items

ok.....how da hell do i kell betsy it is impossible to kill her AND defend the crystal for me.

gimme some tips. what armor? what weapon? etc.

You're pretty much expected to repeat the Event again and agin, grinding more Tokens and getting upgrades by that. Once your defense is good enough, you can focus on Betsy.

Full Nebula Armour, Prism weapon, Ufo Mount, iron skin potion, Vortex Staff sentry, Dragon Summon , 'star cross' thing (increases invunerability time after being hit), camp fire, heart lantern
... worked for me , solo on expert mode

I see a lot of people saying this event is underwhelming or too easy... maybe on normal, but not on expert, i went in half ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the first few tries, just using terrarian and stardust armour with the dragon summon, it wasnt enough.

Too solo on expert , you need super keen gear

Event is literally the easiest thing in Terraria, to be honest. Even the Expert Mode version of it is a joke.

Betsy is above plantera in difficulty, 'easiest thing in the game' lol , easiest.. just harder than 80% of the other content. Would love to see you do it on expert solo , not using moonlord gear / Luna armours. (Anything less, and the crystal will get destroyed)

Isn't the event supposed to scale to four different tiers of difficulty, based on where you are in the game?

the thing is, i want to kill betsy PRE-moon lord. so i can use the weapons without being too op to use them. so, if i leave the crystal alone for too long, the kobolds and ogres and other things that can fly/use ranged attacks kill the crystal before i can kill betsy.so betsy despawns.

Well, dungeon defenders is better played with other people, and I think thats the point of this.
What id do is get your most op gear, run through it a few times to get the weapons then put them in a chest for your weaker character to use in their playthrough.

Or, play through a couple of waves on a weak character, youll still get some defender tokens or w/e they are called, to buy the weaker armours and weapons , 25 tokens each i think.

You're supposed to put down turrets to defend the crystal while you focus on Betsy.

That being said, the turrets dont do much on expert. You could have 10+ down and it wont hold the minions. Only way ive done it is with Nebula armour and Last prism
