Tavern Keeper Died :(

I got him to spawn almost instantly in a new world next to the spawn point but didnt build covor for him yet and he died in a wave... I've tried beating the keeper again andd building a lot of houes but I seem to be only getting all the other NPC vendors. Are there special conditions to get him to spawn again? Or is the lack of respawn a bug?

If there are a lot of npcs dead then you have to wait for those nps to spawn first before he comes back.. though that mainly follows the standard 'dead npc' problem, but if everyone spawned in, and have extra houes to get more npcs then it might be a bug, or you have to find him again.
