It's pretty much another piggy bank/safe, a container you can use to store additional items specific to a character. That is, these allow you to protect certain items should you be with others and want them to not have access to those items.

These also allows you to carry the piggy bank/safe/forge with you, effectively expanding your inventory by 3 chest fulls, sinc ethe inventory of each is idnependent of the other kind.

Furthermore, the contents are not specific to which piggy bank/safe/forge you are using. If you have two piggy banks, you can place them both, dump items into the first, then move to the second and take the same items right back out.

Additionally, these items can store coins and the new defender medal currency, and those savings can be accessed at any time while in a vendor.
