Any offline duplication glitch?

Could he/she not just give a wallet code? I don't really care for the money. But I didn't realize you couldn't give money away like that and I'm kind of interested as to why it's illegal.

-If you go into you documents, you'll see a folder called "my games".
-Go into this and open the Terraria folder.
-find the name of the world or character that has the items you want to dupe (ignore any file that ends in .bak)
-copy/paste that world/char into the same folder as many times as you want
-go into the game and select a copy of the world/char
-take items from that world with your main char/store the items on your main world
-repeat as many times as wanted

Alternatively, there are plenty of all-item worlds, inventory editors and mods if you feel like cheating the old fashioned way.
