I can't seem to find this game fun
I see so many good reviews, but I just couldn't seem to progress after 2 hours and was bored as hell so I decided to refund it. How do I have fun in this game?

I mean, for starters - even though it offers a wide range of playstyles and appeals to a lot of folks, doesn't mean absolutely everyone will enjoy it. Still, if you like action platformers, exploration or building - give it another try.

You progress by exploring, crafting, and eventually fighting bosses. The NPC that starts wandering around spawn has a lot of good advice - try talking to him. Early on I suggest building a bunch of "houses". Make several rooms with walls, a door, a table and chair, background tile and a torch. Then more NPCs can spawn.
There are online guides that can offer better advice than I, but I hope this helps.

Well, if you aren't finding the game fun at all, just refund it by going to your account preferences.
If you want to have fun in Terraria. For starters, Terraria does not have a tutorial. I recommend using the Wiki 24/7 for research.

I was asking a genuine question, maybe don't be so condescending?

Im just think 2D action-adventure games are not for you...

once you fight your first boss, you'll get more of a sense of progression.
if you're willing to retry the game, look for an item that looks like an eye then use it at night.
make sure you are confident in your weapons and armor though

I expected droves of folks to jump on it...but since no one is, here're my favorite parts of the game:

Without spoiling anything I really love Terraria's progression. It feels natural and balanced, with a slow and satisfying ramp. At the start of the game you're thrilled when you get your first pickax upgrade, by the end of the game you feel god like.
Some people really like the combat, and it's pretty well done though not the best part in my mind.

Personally, I think building is the best part. Years and years of polish means the sheer amount of *stuff* is incredible. Literally hundreds of furniture items, so many block types, actuators, PAINT! Every artist should try Terraria, and everyone who's ever thought "wouldn't it be cool to make a..." is an artist.

Like I said before - it might not be your cup of tea. But if your only complaint is you couldn't figure out how to play, well...

Guy can't find any fun in Terraria?

Great, he said his opinion, I appreciate that. Freedom of speech. I think that's normal for someone to dislike something right?
