Best Early-Hardmode Magic Weapons

I am currently doing a Mage Playthough and am about to make the big switch into Hardmode. Thing is, I'm not too well informed on magic weapons and have no idea which are the best to start out with. I've looked though the wiki and have found a few weapons which pique my interest:
Golden Shower
Crystal Storm
Sky Fracture
Crystal Serpent
Nimbus Rod
Medusa Head
Shadowflame Hex Doll
Crystal Vile Shard

Now, that's a lot of weapons to start out with so I'm just wondering which of these are worth my while, I wish to narrow the list down. Also, if there's any others that I haven't listed, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Not really a weapon but a tool you can use. Don't bother with it too much, though, as it's a very, very rare drop from Chaos Elementals; the "Rod of Discord", or RoD for short.

well,if your world is with the Crimson biome you have to get a Golden Shower,if is corrupted you have to take the Cursed Flames,the crystal vile shard is not reccomended because don't deal much damage,take the golden shower or the corrupted flames and take the crystal storm(better magic book to start hardmode).

Nimbus Rod is extra damage if you have it. Sky Fracture is fun, but in terms of efficiency and damage overall Golden Shower and Crystal Storm are better, Crystal Serpent is a bit difficult to obtain, but if you have it it's a good weapon, but not as good as the other two which I mentioned.

Nimbus Rod, while a very poor primary weapon, is always useful (for any class) because it's extra damage all the time. You just place your two clouds somewhere and they'll do their thing while you fight using another weapon. The rain pierces, so it's especially great against segmented foes.

The Golden Shower is nice because it reduces Defence. If you're going to be using a fast, weak weapon, using the Shower once in a while to apply the Defence debuff is a great idea.

For a primary weapon, I personally prefer the Crystal Serpent. It's insanely easy to get, it does solid on-hit damage, and it shoots out other projectiles from the point of impact.

Shadowflame Hex Doll, if you can get your hands on it, does serious close-range damage.

When you can defeat Super Mimics, I would recommend looking into the Clinger Staff. It's a bit like the Nimbus Rod; you place it and it stays there for a while. It has much higher damage and knockback, however, so it can keep a huge number of enemies at bay on one side of the screen and leave you entirely free to keep fighting using other weapons.

nimbus rod is great for the destroyer, use numbus for destroyer and a differrent weapon for probes. It makes the battle sooooooooo mutch easyier.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I will go for the Golden Shower and Nimbus Rod first. I will try and get the Crystal Serpent and Hex Doll a little further down the line.

Head straight to hallow for crystal serpent, high damage for an early magic weapon.
Golden shower was useful for me until I got nebula armour, 20 defense reduction? Sign me up, goyim!
Once you kill plantera, consider doing the frostmoon for razorpine, I found it carried me all the way to moonlord.

The mana cost is astronomical, which is fitting for a "meteor" staff.
But the damage is thicc.
