Well, you can do the classic "internet speed test" in good search and see what your ping, download, and upload is. Ping is latency, how bad your connection it to the server you are connected to (Which that is shown as well) Download, how fast your internet is able to download in a certain amount of time, and upload, How fast your internet allows you to upload to others and the internet. But of course it depends on the connection of others and where they are.

i guess, but ping is something i always got confused with. i think seeing is believing is better in my case

Ping is how late your connection reacts with the connection of the server you are connected to. so like lets say right clicking on a moba or something, if you have a steady flow of ping it usually is okay, even if its a high number, but if its a very high number like 400 or fluctuating, you won't have a fun time in any game. Usual ping in towns or cities are at a constant flow on 30 ping, also depends on weather. 30 ping is usually a perfect connection that you could get unless you are on the same network in a local host.

tried it, it gave me a ping of 75 ms, download of 8.02 mbps, and an upload of 7.61 mbps

Just click the giant blue button "start ping test" ignore everything else as it is just annoying ads, but it shows a good representation of ping

If it's a fairly straight line and not like a heart monitor you should be fine

jitter: 6.8 ms

That is great. Jitter is how much it fluctuates, and if it only switches usually with 6 as the average you're basically good for connecting, it just depends on others connections to you.

Well it can't always be straight, unless your internet is godlike so... Like I said "Not a heart monitor" Like spikes on spikes

Do you have terraria on steam?

but then again, theres other outside factors, that affect whether joining is laggy or not. i actually have to lower all the graphic options down to get a good non laggy run
