Step 1: Go into your My Games folder, either by the search bar or finding it through your libraries.
Step 2: Go into the Terraria folder.
Step 3: Go into ModLoader
Step 4: Go into the Mods folder
Step 5: In the mods folder, there is a JSON file called enabled.json. Open it. (If it comes up with an error, see bottom of comment)
Step 6: Delete all of the text except for the the [ and ]. If you delete the square brackets, tModLoader will crash on startup.
Step 7: Save the file and you're good to go! Just open tModLoader and all of the mods should still be there, but they will all be disabled.
Keep in mind that this was for windows, and you'll have to look elsewhere for help with mac or another OS.
*If you can't open the .json file, right click it, select Open with... and click notepad.
bladeseeker423: the shift thing didn't work BUT i did delete the mods and undo delete so now it works
