If you start a new world with post-Moon Lord gear, it's not going to be much of a challenge. But is it "cheating" if you e.g. grab an emblem from another world because the Wall still hasn't dropped the one you want after beating it 20 times? Your call.
But if you wanna play both to get worm scarf and vampire knives then why not?
It's kinda annoying that speedruns use like 4 or 5 different worlds now though.
What about jumping to worlds that have exposed temple traps (at the entrace) and using them in pre hardmode and early hardmode? You can effectively beat the destroyer without any upgrade to weapons/armor with lots of spiky ball and spear traps.
My personal opinion on the matter:
Is world-hopping an exploit? Yes, to varying degrees, but always yes.
However, is it cheating? It depends on what you bring back with you.
If you can get it in your world, too, then it isn't cheating.
If you can't get it in your world but that is the result of different world generation RNG (like water boots, for instance) then it isn't cheating, it is on the same level as sharing between two players.
If you can't get the item or resource in your world *yet* then it is cheating.
Like that ya know?
If you think it'll be less fun to get a Nazar on a new world, then don't. But no one can make up your mind for you.
I consider it as not cheating because worlds in Terraria are limited in size. The explanation of world hopping is just moving to another place (or back and forth if you're moving items).
World-hopping is never an exploit. Why? Because it is the intended feature. At no time is going from one server to another an exploit. By this reasoning, it cannot be labeled as such.
