Is there a difference between normal or expert worlds?
I was in my normal world and decided to create another expert world to do some farming. While I was farming I noticed that in my normal world I had never gotten tungsten but in the expert world is was loaded with the tungsten ore. Is there a difference like this in normal or expert worlds or is this just a coincidence?

Do you mean crimson and corruption have different loot or normal and expert?

Different worlds, not influenced by expert/normal or crimson/corruption.

Most of those minable ores have their counterpart: copper/tin, iron/lead, tungsten/silver, gold/platinum, cobalt/palladium, mythril/orichalcum and adamantite/titanium. I think that's all.

no, not really. in expert, the bosses and monsters are harder, but bosses drop a special peice of loot out of their lootbags (only in expert, they're sometimes handy, rclick in inventory to get all drops) which cannot be found in normal mode. There are of course lootbags from both crimson/corruption bosses, and loot to go with them.

in expert, loot collection also increases. you have more of a chance of getting rare items from monsters in expert rather than normal. for example, in normal i was never able to get a nimbus rod, but in expert i got stacks upon stacks of them.

and also another fact: in expert, the corruption/crimson spread much faster. if you want a tidy world, go on normal.

the ore selection is not related to expert/normal, it is random when generating a world. your ores from smashing demon altars is also completely random, and might change to different names. lead = iron, tungsten = silver, gold = platinum, copper=tin: they are all the same

So they have the same stats as the opposite?

The differences between normal and expert mode worlds is the difficulty, the expert boss drops and % chance of loot from monsters, and some more minor things.

Actual world generation is just random. Super Bum has mentioned the counterpart ores which is probably what you're experiencing.

Only similair stats, some ores are actually slightly better (1 or 2 defense better) like gold vs platinum, platinum is better than gold in terms of stats but your world will only have one or the other

not really, no. stats can be slightly different, but they are almost the same. armor set effect can differ, maybe a small change in attack by 1 or 2 hitpoints, but they are almost identical
