Why does modded terraria stutter on a good pc?

I play with like thorium and a couple other mods (not even calamity) and it stutters every so often.
750 ti
Fx 6300
8gb ram
Ssd (windows)
7200 rpm hard drive (most games including terraria)
Both drives are fine storage wise

your stats is not what you'd call a "good" computer, regarding most mods, they obviously are far more intensive than your Regular Terraria, performance issues come mainly from CPU load, try either closing a lot of programs to free up memory or even try to set priority > High, works for minecraft running about 120mods for me xD my PC = i7-7700K with a 1080TI, worse case just tweek your graphics settings? if that doesn't fix it potentialy de-active your mods untill you stop lagging and find the cause

i can also Run calamity + thorium and any other compatible mod, and i run max frames without a stutter or crash, only ever once crashed when i was screwing with unity on the background and had it load in things which screwed my CPU load and crashed most my programs

Is Steam in C:?
8BG is good but not mod good. not even MC..
750ti is outdated. but would be good

Not sure about singleplayer..

But if you play mutliplayer with too many mods it doesn't matter how good your PC is it will still stutter.

Yeah ram might be an issue. 12 or 16 would be way better. Also gpu isnt a problem, terraria isnt exactly the best looking game with a ton of visual effects, so it would probably be my cpu

looks depeends on mods. i have realistic mod so it looks better
