Frost Armor or Chlorophyll?

I'm ranger so which one should I go for, pre-plantera.

Chlorophyte seems a tad better if memory serves me. Chloro helps with ammo consumption, has slightly higher damage buffs and has a cool set effect. I dunno if having frostburn on your bullets would do much, so I prefer Chloro's ability to shoot a projectile out every so often, even if it is relatively low damage.

I would say frost armour on the grounds that you will have the chlorophyte available for shroomite armour once plantera is defeated.

Is it really that hard to get more Chlorophyll?

Right now I just need the best ranged gear for Plantera. I'm in expert mode btw I have tons of chlorophyll its actually easy to get.

Not really I guess, but it is 324 chlorophyte ore vs 648, the difference between the sets is surprisingly negligible. Chloro has:
1 more defense
5% more damage
1% higher critical chance
3% lower movement speed
20% chance to not consume ammo
a Sentry as opposed to damage over time

With my last ranger at that point I went with Frost Armour so I could give folk frostbite with my flamethrower. Come to thing of it I was in expert and struggled with plantera that time, maybe not the best move..

I'd choose either Titanium or Frost armor for fighting Plantera. Save your chlorophyte - That stuff sucks to farm sometimes. Make it easy on yourself.
If you got some Campfires, Heart Lanterns, and some potion buffs, Plantera shouldn't be too bad. Make sure you got room to move around!

Ninjathis I got tons of chlorophyll. I just need to know if that is good for ranger plantera. I even have extra bars just for shroomite.

I would go with Chlorophyte myself. Not only does it give you a greater ranged bonus if you use the helmet, it has an extra 20% chance not to consume ammo and the added effect of the crystal for added damage if you wear the full set. It also has a higher defense.

I forget whether Plantera is weak against Frostburn or not, though.

i always go Chloropyte personally, it just has better stats in my opinion, and i never have trouble getting lots of chlorophyte. You can get shroomite armor almost immediately after plantera, so if you wont have around 54-78 bars of chlorophyte, just go with frost because u can get a way better upgrade post plantera.
