Calamity mod's duck obsession

This is going to sound nuts,

I was playing modded terraria, and one of the mods I had installed was the calamity mod, and those of you who have play this mod before know that there is a sulfurous ocean that spawns brand new monster and loot. So, when I arrived there, it was pretty quiet, and I wanted to try a new weapon against the aquatic scourge boss, so I waited, but it wasnt spawning, so I drank a zerg potion and a battle potion, both of which increase spawn rates, and all of a sudden, I was greeted with the majestic sight of 30 or so golden ducks arising from the dirty waters. I of course didnt want ducks, to clog up monster spawn rates, so I tried to kill a few, but they were immortal. As soon as I was able to get some monsters to spawn, they were able to kill some ducks and after like 5 or so minutes, the scourge spawned, but does anybody have any idea what caused random flocks of ducks to spawn from the ocean?

I believe it could have been some nearby grass blocks, or maybe the zerg potion increases all spawn rates, including critters, but then why only golden ducks?

either your luck is literally or insane or another mod is causing this because its never happened to me

probably that, other mods I had installed at the time were throium, alchemist npc, recipe browser, and magic storage
