Currently in the corruption fishing for corrupt crates. Somehow can't get any with 100+ fishing power.

Any tips on how to get them? BTW while I'm in the corruption I'm quite close to the overworld biome.

It's just RNG, you have 10% chance to get a corr crate when you do succesfully fish up a crate.
Only thing I can really suggest is just moving inside the biome more.

Get a better fishing pole (traveling merchant will sell the sitting duck fishing pole, which is the best until you get the hotline or golden pole from the angler's quests). Use crate potions and sonar potion, that way you have a better chance to get crates and you will know when you hook a crate.

I have all of those. Though I did manage to get one so I guess it's just luck

No luck. It's RNG, so just make sure you have the highest things you can get that affect fishing (bait, acc, clothes).
