Is it possible to a world have platinum and gold ores?

See, i suspect my friend used some hacks spawning a full platinum armor while hes char was in another world. See, he appeared in our world with that full platinum armor (that he made in a reaaly short time), and gave me some gold tools, that he supposely did it in his world.

He got an full platinum armour with less of 3 hours of gaming. I mean that by itself is suspcious, tho not impossible. But the platinum ang gold ore really confirms it.

He could have gone to another world to mine platnium.

While yes he may be cheating from what you've told us unfortunately it's impossible to tell as there are ways he could've gotten full platinum armour with golden tools legit.
1) His world could have the opposite of whatever your world does e.g. if your world has gold his might have platinum. (As long as it was a freshly generated world and not one he had already farmed items in I would consider this to not be cheating)
2) As has been mention fishing for crates gives either type of ore.
3) The extractinator gives all types of ore and since you have to mine slit or other useable blocks if he used this method he could say he mined the ores.

Faesur, he claims he found 30 gold bars in a chest (REALY UNLIKELY). The world that we had is the one who has platinum, he player in his other world for a really short time, less them 3 hours, maybe 2. Wich means he actually took the gold in his alternative wolrd. Tho here goes an interesting fact: he didnt knew there could be gold and platinum in a same world.

Only takes less then 2 hours to beat the game. The fact you think you cannot fish pre-hardmode armor within 3 is really sad.
