calamity is a lot harder, meanwhile thorium has terraria level difficulty. They're both pretty big, and thorium adds 2 new classes, its your choice really.

I like Thorium far more. Calamity, while indeed being harder, brings things to the point numbers are so large they become meaningless, and some bosses are just edgy memers.

I suggest thorium. While calamity's early game and hardmode are fun, it has loads of post moonlord content that just gets really tiring. Thorium extends gameplay without it overstaying its welcome.

THORIUM! because of the Bard Class, the ridoculous pig noises some of the bosses make and the transformation items (turning into a bat after beating Viscount) and it has a pre-King Slime boss... I don't any other mod that does that

the calamity mod is unbalanced and easy. calamity players want you to think its harder but its actually much easier than vanilla. you get a bunch of op stuff and it also makes it wayyyy easier to get items that in vanilla are really rare. also the "hardest" mode that kills you when you take damage from a boss, is bugged and sometimes randomly kills you when you didnt take any damage/hit. oh also a large amount of the stuff it adds is really really cringy.

the thorium mod is a lot higher quality in general and the stuff doesnt seem so out of place. its also more balanced. thorium is definitely the better mod.
