Fishing, pulling out nothing

Hey

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how it works. Sometimes when Im fishing I get the bouning bait and I catch nothing. Im asking because when I use Sonar Potion I see quest fish and I fail at pulling it out of the water.

I was wondering what is causing it. Is it my low fishing power or just random failure? Is there any way I can prevent it?

Your fishing line can snap sometimes, there is a fishing line accesory that prevents it from happening, but its just a rng type thing

This is a Line Break. It can be circumvented by equiping a High-Test Fishing Line. It can be obtained from the angler via fishing quests. (vicious cycle, ehh?)

Fishing is something easy to understand, albeit tricky at first.

Basically, make sure the bobber on the end of your line is somewhat visible. Gotta see it if you wanna reel in anything.

Basically, fishing power and bait power only determine what you'll fish. Higher Fishing/Bait power usually results in you fishing up more crates/quest fish than normal fish/junk.

You'll only manage to reel in something if you see the lure/bobber/whatever the hell its called moving quickly in the water. Thats when you click and reel in the fish.

Also, what the two previous posts have said. Line Breaks can happen, although I've actually only encountered it once or twice (granted, I only fish until I get a Reaver Shark and in hardmode, a Toxicarp is its Corruption)
