There any mod that can disable corruption/crimson spread?
Title.

This is such an annoying feature that's included. It's so tedious and seemingly impossible to clear up. Especially if you have a large world and just want to play with a few handful of friends.

I looked it up and I couldn't find anything. I found a suggestion, and that's to make the area around your base the hallow biome, since it overpowers corruption/crimson, if that's your issue

It's not really that, it's just I hate knowing the world is going to turn into this ugly red/dark world if I don't dedicate hours/days/ or even weeks into trying to prevent it. It's just not a fun game mechanic when you have to get EVERY single block of the world purified to prevent this from happening.

Ah. The clentaminator (or whatever it's called) can help to attempt to remove it if you're willing to put the time in (probably 15-30 mins)

Again, we have a large world and only 3 people. So far it just feel so pointless trying to preven tthis. We're using the powder and literally 1 minute after I use 180+ powders, I go back and it's coming back.

Ok. One more thing: If you put a 4 wide gap between the corruption and another biome it stops the spreading pretty well. But other than that I'm out of ideas. Good luck.

We're trying this, but its' so hard atm since we keep dying to the monsters. It's so hard to find out where it starts too until it's too big. Again, this is just a stupid and frustrating mechanic that requires way too much time and dedication. I don't mind hallow, but the crimson and corruption is so ugly.
theres a mod that slaps a bunch of clay around the crimsion/corruption to prevent it from spreading.

I'd assume I have to make a new world with this mod installed, correct? Would you happen to know what the mod is?

I haven't used it myself but theres an item that comes with the mod that I assume that spawns clay around the evil without making a new world but the mod is called Control Corruption/Crimsion in tmod. Heres the link to the fourm post of the mod: Control Corruption (With Lots of Clay) [forums.terraria.org]

I'll look into this. Thank you for the help. I hope I don't have to make a new world and hope it works. I just need to look into how to mod things on this game. Do my friends need to do anything? Or do I just have to mod and host?

I'm not knoledgable about hosting servers with mods but I think you both just need that mod installed and enabled. For modding Terraria, download tmodloader [forums.terraria.org], follow the instructions and once you get it up and running, click "Mod browser" and search "Control Corruption/Crimsion" and download it and that should be it.

Clentaminator.

Plus that's what Terraria Overworld (or whatever it was going to be called) was going to be lol.

The game isn't called, "Terraria" 'cuz of corruption spreading. The main focus point is improving your gear, weapons, exploring, and creating. Not taking weeks and time to prevent your world from corrupting into an ugly mess.

It that feels more like a side quest that takes the fun out of what this game has to offer. This is nothing more than an annoyance that wastes time.

I usually never worry about corruption spread, just buy some hollow seeds from the dryad and plant them around the base. If you want to get rid of it because it's an eyesore, then that would be really difficult. You would have to dig tunnels through all of the corruption like an ant mound, and your best bet would be to use the Clentaminator to purify it, which would take hours. The corruption is annoying and its suppose to be that way so the best thing to do ( in my opinion) is to just hold it back. Probably take less time to do too.

The corruption/crimson is a neccesary part of Terraria as it is part of the progress. The whole point of the dryad in fact is to tell you how much of your world is still corrupted. One of the END GAME goals of Terraria is to truly purify your world of light and dark. Making it only Normal biomes. It is supposed to be difficult to completely eliminate them, otherwise the goal would be too easy and would lose purpose.
