Someone joined my invite only world?

I was playing Terraria with a friend of mine and some random person with the nickname of Bobthebuilder, who was quite obviously endgame joined. I was really confused as my game was clearly invite only. The person claimed he was a moderator and that he was checking around to see people were happy and offered me some help. New to Terraria PC (used to play on console) so I'm not sure if he legit or how he joined.

Update: Bobthebuilder returned again even when I put a password on my server. He really is creeping me out.

If your game is set to invite only, nobody should be able to join except through invites. doesn't matter who they may claim to be. That guy was bullshitting you.

Terraria moderators can NOT join your game. He may be impersonating a Terraria moderator, although there is not a moderator named "Bobthebuilder".

I used to play a LOT of Terraria on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One as well ^-^

Going back to your issue though, try setting a password on your server to prevent unauthorised users from connecting without your permission.

There are no Terraria Moderators, unless you are referring to the forum moderators, but they DEFINITELY don't have that kind of power.

It's just someone trying to mess with you, either invited by you or your friend.

I would recommend ensuring that friends of friends is off.

He was acting incredibly suspcious. When I asked for his steam profile he ignored me, the second time I asked he said 'That doesnt matter!'. He asked me how old I was so exited my world. What should I do if I encounter him or anyone like him?

I think your best bet is to just ask them to leave, and if they don't, then just reset the world.

If you encounter someone like that again, how you reacted worked perfectly. What Vexxii & Ninjathis said by disabling friends of friends and setting a password should block any unwanted visitors.

I would simply instantly close the world. People who join with OP gear, especially in a newly created world, are trouble. They may destroy your property, steal gear, etc.

Just ensure your things are safe, and figure out who causes the problem to prevent it from happening again.
