how to use the example mod
i wanted to change the sprites on some of the items i edited the sprites in the items folder but it didnt change anything in the game

Are you trying to change the sprites of Vanilla Terraria or of ExampleMod?

Replace the sprites you want to change (Make sure they have the exact same name), then move the ExampleMod folder to ModSources (Documents\My Games\Terraria\ModLoader\ModSources). Go into tModLoader and Build + Reload ExampleMod.

would that still work if instead of replacing the sprite i just edit it
