Improve framerate

How can i improve my framerate on terraria? i am getting less than 12 fps.

2gb ram
celeron
integrated graphics

Like, no, you should not be allowed to even try to run it

go to settings. Turn parallax to 0%, turn frame skip on. Use either retro color or white lighting. mulitcore lighting to off. quilty to low. turn off background. that should give u at lease 30 fps if not more.

What does parallax do?

Parallax (in this case) is the percent at which the background moves relative to the foreground.
If a player was moving at 100 pixels per second, and the parallax was set to 60%(default), then the background would be moving at 60 pixels per second in the same direction as the player.

Sets the backround scroll speed, the higher it is, the more 3D the game looks
