Weird white writing all over screen??

Trying to get terraria to work on my brothers old PC. Messed around with settings until I managed to get it running at a smooth FPS, but now when I load up a world there’s lists of strange white writing over the screen? This only appears when I load a world, and if I go into the settings menu it dissapears, but reappears when I exit the setting menu. Anyone know what this could be caused by?? The game is still playing fine but it’s pretty impossible to play with all this writing.

Ah, you just have one of the debug screens showing. F7 and F8 toggle those.
